AN IDEAL LOCATION

THE DISTRICT

The Chouette Hotel benefits from an ideal location, a stone’s throw from the peaceful Georges Brassens park, that you could reach by foot, as well as the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre and the Palais des Sports, that both host numerous events throughout the year.

The establishment is also close to several of the capital’s emblematic locations, like the Eiffel Tower, the Champ de Mars, and offers quick access to the Montparnasse station, nearby.

The Rue de la Convention, on which the hotel can be found, is situated outside of the traditional tourist routes: it nevertheless offers a typically Parisian atmosphere and a large choice of cafés, restaurants and boutiques. Famous for its lively market that is held twice a week, it is also served by the metro thanks to its “Convention” station. The 12 line, that crosses Paris from North to South, allows you to directly reach Montparnasse and Saint-Lazare stations, but also Abbesses and the picturesque Montmartre neighbourhood, Madeleine, Place de la Concorde, the Musée d’Orsay, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, or even the Georges Brassens park (photo).

THE
ANDRÉ-CITROËN PARK

Located on the left bank of the Seine on the site of the old Citroën factory, the André-Citroën park is a public garden designed by landscapers Gilles Clément, Allain Provost and architects Patrick Berger, Jean-François Jodry and Jean-Paul Viguier.

Opened in 1992, the park is divided into three themed sections: the Jardin Blanc, the Jardin Noir and a big central park. It elegantly combines lush vegetation and aquatic scenery.

The Georges Brassens Park: located at the old Vaugirard horse market square and its slaughterhouses, the Georges Brassens park is a typically Parisian park that matches the pond and the belfry of the old Vaugirard slaughterhouse auction market.

The park obviously bears the name of the French poet, author, composer and singer who lived a few hundred metres from here, at 9 Impasse Florimont (14th), then at 42 Rue Santos-Dumont (15th) precisely. It is worth noting that there are 700 feet of pinot noir vineyards and a beehive that are open to the public.

The visit allows you to discover many pieces in plaster, marble, bronze, paintings by the artist but also his workshop that reproduces the atmosphere of the time at the start of the 20th century.
With the exception of the temporary exhibits, entry to the museum is free. A very nice surprise, unmissable for art lovers, particularly lovers of sculptures.
